Numbers 31:6-8

New International Version

⁶ Moses sent them into battle,^(A) a thousand from each tribe, along with Phinehas^(B) son of Eleazar, the priest, who took with him articles from the sanctuary^(C) and the trumpets^(D) for signaling.

⁷ They fought against Midian, as the Lord commanded Moses,^(E) and killed every man.^{(F) 8} Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba^(G)—the five kings of Midian.^(H) They also killed Balaam son of Beor^(I) with the sword.^(J)
